I’m the first one to admit that Christmas is commercialised and so far from its original meaning that it has in fact become almost meaningless, beyond the frenzy every year to buy a present and the panic that ensues because you haven’t.

Having said that, whatever you do this Christmas and whoever you are, may you experience a peace within yourself and a wellbeing that has nothing to do with religion.
And may you give to the earth and other people, not because a little boy may or may not have been born in a stable 2000 years ago, but because if we all give a little of ourself to others, the world will be a better place.
Merry Christmas everybody; to you, the ones you love, and especially the ones you don’t.
hmm…..i think….well…christmas has past, now probably we looking forward on chinese new year….christmas is for JESUS, what about chinese new year….budda?? lol
You have a point there and it would be wonderful if everybody could have the spirit of Christmas regardless of religion. Let's face it, not everybody believes in Jesus Christ, so yes, that would be great. But then, please call it something else, because JESUS IS THE REASON for the season. If He wasn't born, there would have been NO celebrations, there would have been no wishes of peace and goodwill to men.
It is a very sad day when Christ is taken out of Christmas and it is a day given to the world with no meaning. All over the world there are millions of Christians who celebrate this day because of the birth of the Saviour, Jesus Christ, who gave His life so that we may have everlasting life.
So may everybody's life be filled with peace, hope, joy and love, because that is the meaning of the day the Christchild was born. The day we call CHRISTmas.
More and more people enjoy Chinese New Year and the celebrations that go with it, even though non-Chinese don't always understand it.
In Malaysia, for example, everyone enjoys Hari Raya, not because they are all Muslim, but because open houses and the spirit of giving and sharing has been accepted by all cultures.
Similarly, Christmas is embraced by most, not because of the religious aspects, but because of the giving, sharing and togetherness thereof – one of the biggest Christmases I ever had was in China, where most are not Christian and didn't even know about the CHRIST in Christmas – yet, they give (and take), share and spend the day with friends and loved ones same as Christians.
My point is, if we can all appreciate and find the message in each other's celebrations, (and by extension their cultures, points of view, way of life and the way they do things), even though we don't believe it in ourselves or necessarily understand it, that's when the world will become a better place – regardless of religion.
Christmas is not about giving from yourself to the earth and other people. Christmas IS because of the little boy that WAS born in a stable 2000 years ago.
So whoever you are, may you experience a peace within yourself and a wellbeing that has EVERYTHING to do with religion.
If you don't believe in Christ and what he has done for you and everyone on earth: DON'T celebrate Christmas and DON'T have anything to do with it. Cause incase you didn't notice: The word Christmas starts with CHRIST and if you don't believe in Him, why celebrate something you don't believe in?
So Merry CHRISTmas to all who believes in Christ and to those who doesn't, cause maybe one day you will.
Happy Christmas, Jaco!
